How to Review Your Results
Summary
Our wholesale scanner is designed to save you time by getting the analysis as close to the go / no-go decision as possible, so that you’re only reviewing the most qualified opportunities.
In this video, we walk you through some example output and cover how to review your results.
In short, results for any tool need to be reviewed. Our AI features helps narrow down the list of opportunities to review. However, the match and conversion factor fields should be checked for accuracy, and every seller ultimately is responsible for the buy decision.
Go / No-Go
Ultimately, the output tells us whether each product is viable for selling, using the "Summary" column.
Getting to a "Yes" decision requires that:
- The product matches the listing
- The product is profitable (and includes the correct conversion factor)
- The product meets filter requirements
- There are no warnings identified by the system
We'll go over each of these below.
Match Status
In the opportunity tab, each row is a match between a source product and an Amazon listing. There are high confidence and lower confidence matches. Code matches are high confidence and classified as a"Match," whereas text matches are lower confidence and classified as "Match can't confirm." For a deep dive on match accuracy, please see this post. In general, AI search generates a lot more results, but they require additional time to evaluate prior to selling.
Profitability
Our profitability is calculated directly from data inputs from Keepa, using the latest Amazon policies. The AI only plays one role in calculating profitability, which is to determine the conversion factor. This needs to be checked before relying on the profitability calculation.
The conversion factor converts between the purchase price units and the selling price units. Source products are usually priced by the "each" or by the unit of measure, whereas Amazon prices are based on whatever is listed in the description. Please set your pricing units in the scanner based on your supplier's pricing policy, and upload any relevant unit of measure columns.
Filters
There are all sorts of filters that save you time when reviewing opportunities. They include revenue, ROI, whether the listing is single-seller, and whether Amazon is in the buy box. To see the filters applied for a given scan, please see the Settings tab.
Note that we do not evaluate unprofitable opportunities because this would drive your scanning bill to be much higher, and it wouldn't add much value.
Warnings (Listing Notes)
Next to the Summary column, we present any final warnings in the listing notes, which describes any risks and explains the rationale for any "maybe" opportunities. Make sure to review these listing notes prior to selling.
Final Checks
Since every seller ultimately is responsible for the buy decision, we recommend that all sellers perform their usual checks before listing. This includes double checking profitability and determining how much volume to buy.
